"Mega" and "Mini"

In the Begining... Mega Stick was built by a guy who has a passion for the GWS Slow Stick, (Bob Masterson), and a guy who can build almost anything (Bill Mc Neal). "Mega Stick" is a Slow Stick scaled up 200%. It's wingspan is 92" and it's fuselage length is 64". Powered by a Tower Pro Outrunner and Speed control, with a 6s 2500mAh pack, it can cruise comfotably at 1/4 throttle! The wing and control surfaces are made from Depron, the fuselage is a 1" square aluminum frame. Weighing in at almost 7 lbs, you could hardly tell how heavy it is as it floats accross the sky! "Mini Me" is pretty much a stock GWS Slow Stick running a Tower Pro 2409-12 motor and speed control, and was modifies cosmetically to look like "Mega".

Picture of Mega's control surfaces with the standard size servos embeded in the foam, with hardwood mounting blocks and pull- pull controls.

Close- up of Mega's Power, the Tower Pro outrunner motor on it's hardwood motor mount, still under construction in this picture.

Bare Depron wing, still coming along- Look at the size!

Mega and Mini sharing the same paint...

Bob and Bill getting ready to fly 'Mega' and 'Mini' in formation. A quick radio check and.....

Up they go!

This formation photo does not do justice to the size difference.

Looking like they were ment to fly together!

Two very happy and satisfied pilots!. The 'Mega' and 'Mini' project was a lot of fun and a big success!
